New York, NY – ICFF, North America’s platform for global design, opens May 19, 2019 at the Javits Center in New York City. Carol Kurth, FAIA, ASID, announces the debut of her namesake furniture line, Carol Kurth®, at the show, unveiling the first offering from its Urban Edge collection: Squarish Chair | In Bloom at the Luxe Artisans of Influence exhibit. Luxe Interiors + Design, highlights unique artisan works at ICFF by presenting designs of exceptional, hand-crafted home furnishings in their Luxe Lounge.
A celebration of artisanal design, at the intersection of art and architecture, the Carol Kurth® Squarish Chair | In Bloom, juxtaposes function and form - functional as a swivel chair and sculptural as an art form. The tapered lines of the chair are accented by a bold wrap cut-out, highlighting the frame and structure. Blossoming in an array of artful clusters, hand-crafted leather flowers have dynamic sculptural impact, signifying hope in bloom.
Squarish Chair | In Bloom is now available custom to order, and marks the initial offering of Kurth’s inaugural furniture collection. The collection will infuse elements of architecture, from bold forms to minimalist lines and feature a range of product categories, including distinctive award winning hardware, that will be made available to the design trade later this year. Dramatic form, innovative textures, metal accents, and discerning detailing are hallmarks of the Carol Kurth® brand.
Carol Kurth will take the stage for the Artisans of Influence panel discussion presented by Luxe Interiors + Design, an engaging conversation on the influence of artisan products on Sunday, May 19, 1:30-2:30pm; ICFF Talks Main Stage.
